Definitely blackout and quite a bit soundproof there's a daycare behind my home and I did not hear them this morning the only thing I did not like is they are very wrinkly even after you take them out of the dryer I did not dry them all the way because I was afraid they would shrink they did not the ironing took all day and it was difficult , so make sure when you iron them they are still damp and you're going to need a lot of elbow grease!! Other than that the quality is good
